Daniel Hooper

Sales & Customer care

Daniel Hooper joined Los Angeles Violin Shop in 2013 and assumed the position of Sales Manager. Together with Owen Lee, Daniel has worked to make LAVS the first choice for public school music directors looking for quality student violins. He has used his passion for public music programs to spearhead the formation of several after-school string programs. Daniel is noted to connect the beginner student to their instrument all the while providing customers with top-flight service and attention to detail.

Daniel, like many others, began his musical journey through the local public school music program. Having discovered his love of music, he eventually began competing and winning solo competitions and honors orchestra chairs. He attended the Conservatory of Music at University of The Pacific, where he majored in Music Education and studied Violin Performance under Warren van Bronkhorst. Daniel earned both his B.A. and M.A. in English Literature at San Francisco State University, and still found time to play with San Francisco Children’s Opera, The University Symphony, and other community musical groups. It was upon his return to Los Angeles did he discover an empty position waiting for him at LAVS

“The driving force behind Los Angeles Violin Shop is to put the best sounding instruments in the hands of players regardless of their performance level or budget. That means that students and those just starting out can get an instrument optimized to its highest potential, just like those of top performers. And we aim to ensure that they receive  the same great service. That’s why I enjoy working at the Los Angeles Violin Shop.” –Daniel Hooper.
