Pierre Nehr Vn/Vc Silver
In September 1995 at the age of sixteen, Pierre Nehr began his apprenticeship with his brother Jean-Pascal in Marseille, where he stayed for five years. Pierre was awarded bowmaking diploma in Mirecourt in 1998. He opened his own workshop in Paris in 2002, to devote himself to designing and making his own bows and restoring old bows for luthiers, dealers, and international collectors. All of Pierre’s bows are entirely handmade. His work is influenced by the great French masters of the 19th century, to which Pierre brings his personal touch. His bows are played all over the world by orchestral musicians, chamber musicians, concertmasters, and soloists, and are highly prized by collectors. His work has been awarded by several international competitions; he now sits on juries for several bow making competitions.
