Cantus Dubois model violin is great violin for advancing students. It is all handmade, hand rubbed 1704 varnished with golden yellow to reddish brown. This particular model has a superior tone unmatched for this price level of instrument. The tone is warm and colorful with great projection. The fine antique appearance created by the hand -applied 1704 varnish compliments the lush tone. It is stunningly sophisticated, yet wonderfully traditional. It has robust volume, all strings are brilliant clear and this violin has sweetness in all positions. This Cantus Dubois model is made with Colorado’s Engelmann Spruce for the best tonal quality.

This particular model is varnished with the Old Italian way at our Los Angeles Workshop for the best tonal quality. There will be variations of varnish since they are all hand varnished.
