Sarah Robinson has a varied career as a chamber, orchestral and recording musician. She served as Principal Flute with the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra, section flute with the Adrian Symphony, and has performed with the Southeast Symphony, Los Angeles Conducting Workshop Orchestra, West Michigan Symphony, Traverse City Symphony, South Carolina Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestra Augusta. She can be heard on the soundtracks to the films Pressure Man, Monroe, Driving Thought, Toxic Temptation and Bandit.
Sarah is flutist for the classical crossover band and film-scoring ensemble, Helix Collective. The ensemble is at home in nightclubs and on the concert stage, from a residency at the venerable Silverlake Lounge to performances for the West Michigan and Pacific Symphonies. The group serves as resident ensemble for the Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival. Sarah is the co-director of Classical Revolution: L.A. and author of Clubbing for Classical Musicians, a guide to presenting classical music in alternative venues.
As an educator, Dr. Robinson has taught chamber music and flute in the U.S. and England, as well as courses in music literature and introduction to music. She holds degrees in flute performance from the Royal Northern College of Music, the Chicago College of Performing Arts, the University of Illinois and the University of South Carolina.
