Lucian Nicolescu is a Romanian born cellist with a Bachelor degree in Cello Performance at the Bucharest Conservatory where he studied under the guidance of Prof. Razvan Suma as well as Soloist Marin Cazacu. While in Romania he was a founder of a string quartet with which he attended various Chamber music workshops as well as winning multiple national chamber music awards. He was employed at the Bucharest National Opera until 2012 when he decided to come to the United States to pursue his Master’s degree at The Boston Conservatory under the guidance of Prof. Rhonda Rider.
While at the Boston Conservatory he was invited to play multiple times in Faculty/Student chamber music concerts as well as playing solo for various dance projects. He attended the Apple Hill Center Chamber Music and the Music From Salem Cello Seminar workshops where he received praise for his artistic and chamber music instincts. His passion for music and education led him to Los Angeles in 2015 where he is pursuing his career and is currently holding a private studio at the Los Angeles Music Academy.
